Body, Cosmetics, & Fashion

Beauty Counter: Beauty Counter abides by a "never list" composed of over 1,500 harmful chemicals that are never used in their products.  Both quality and performance of their skincare and cosmetics is impeccable.  Beauty Counter is on a mission to change the way that congress regulates the beauty industry to create safer products for all ages.  You can reach out to me personally if you have any questions specific to this brand.

Silicon Face and Lip Scrubber: I love using this to exfoliate daily for smooth clear skin and lips.

100% Mulberry Silk Sleep Mask: This mask is super silky and comfortable with an adjustable back. Mulberry silk is 100% natural, odorless, hypoallergenic, and stays cool through the night. Unlike other materials, it doesn’t create friction, keeping your skin healthier, locking in moisture, and reducing the chance of break outs that other materials might cause.

Bob’s Red Mill Premium Quality Baking Soda: I use this for my homemade toothpaste. You can find the recipe on my Youtube Channel.

Nordic Ice Pack: I use these for body pain when ice is helpful (such as nerve pain). I like them because they stay frozen for a very long time, and they come in various sizes like 8oz and 16oz. Be sure to cover them in a tea towel or cloth if you use them against your skin.

Everyone hand soap and lotion is a top pick because it contains no chemical fragrances and is moisturizing and gentle. It’s also EWG certified.

Every Day Shea Bubble Bath: I love Every Day Shea because it doesn't use harmful chemicals or artificial fragrances.  It's moisturizing for the skin, mild in scent, and makes great bubbles! Check out this blog post to learn more!

Epsom salt is great for a detox bath or foot soak.  Check out this blog post to learn more!

Ella and Mila nail polish: I really like the quality of Ella and Mila nail polish, and it’s a “seven chemical free” product, meaning it doesn’t contain the 7 chemicals found to be most harmful in polishes. You can also find them at Target.

Ella and Mila nail polish remover: This polish remover contains a soy base, is acetone free, and contains essential oils, vitamin A, E, and C for nail health.

Pure-Wave Massager: This is a cordless massager that has multiple attachments and is great for relaxation of muscles. I’ve found it to be particularly helpful for abdominal tension and to ease digestion.

Leather Apple Watch Band: This obviously has nothing to do with health (unless you use the health functions on the watch, which can be life-changing!), but I love this leather band for it if you’re looking for something soft and sleek!

Toxin-Free Home

molekule.png

Molekule Air Purifier: This is a big investment, but after a TON of research, Stephen and I decided that this was the best on the market for our home and needs. It filters mold, VOC’s (volatile organic compounds emitted from gasses), allergens, bacteria, and viruses. You can find a lot of the research behind the technology as well as test reports on the website if you’re interested in learning more.

berkey.jpeg

Berkey Water Filter: This is also a big investment, but one that is well worth it if you’re looking for incredibly pure and beneficial drinking water. It will filter ANY water, and removes bacteria, parasites, viruses, trihalomethanes, pharmaceuticals, inorganic materials such as chlorine, VOCs (volatile organic compounds), heavy metals, sediment and rust, as well as odors and unpleasant tastes. You can even add mineralizing stones inside of it to increase the mineral content of your water. You can see a full list of the things it removes as well as test results here on the website. It’s truly incredible. We have the 3.25 Royal Berkey and it’s perfect size for the two of us as well as guests.

norwex.jpg

Norwex: Norwex has a mission of educating individuals about harmful chemicals, plastic pollution, and environmental issues.  The EnviroCloth is a favorite, because it removes and traps bacteria using microfibers that eliminate the need for chemical cleaners.  You need a consultant in order to place an order, and I am not a consultant but my friend Caitlin Kunkel is, so you can put her name in when prompted and it will support her precious family!

Air Purifier: This is a great air purifier for removing mold, dust, odor, and pollen from the air.  It has changed the quality of sleep for multiple of my family members by providing cleaner air through allergy season!

Eden’s Garden Essential Oils: Oils have a vast array of healing benefits when used topically, internally, or by diffusion .  If you have a specific need, be sure to do your research or ask a professional in the field of oils!  Check out this blog post for one idea on usage.  There are a lot of great companies that sell oils. I really like Eden’s Garden.

Himalayan salt lamps cleanse the air by removing dust, pollen, and contaminants, while emitting negative ions to benefit our health.

If you love candles as much as I do but don't want to be exposed to the toxins from fragrances or lead, purchasing soy candles with cotton wicks and natural scents is the way to go.  The Pinot Noir Candle from Rewind is one of my absolute favorite.  It has a fresh mildly musky scent

These glass amber bottles are great for storing natural household cleaners.

Kitchenware

These glass storage containers are a great alternative to plastic and are perfect for storing food in the refrigerator or taking meals and snacks on the go.

Glass bottles with stainless steel lids perfect for juicing or beverages.

This popcorn maker is perfect for homemade popcorn with kernels and coconut oil or avocado oil.

Bread Maker: I have this Hamilton Beach bread maker and LOVE it. It has a gluten-free setting and makes it easy to make delicious loaves of bread! My favorite recipe book for the machine is The Gluten-Free Bread Machine Cookbook.

Omega Masticating Juicer: If you're a serious juicer, this is the way to go.  Masticating juicers crush the plants, whereas centrifugal juicers use a fast-spinning blade.  The spinning method conducts heat which destroys some of the nutrients from the plants, which is why I recommend using a pressing method.  If you're just getting into juicing, a centrifugal juicer may be the way to go as they are less expensive, but if you are committed to incorporating juicing into your daily routine and want the most nutrient quality, go with the Masticating Juicer!

Vitamix: This blender is THE appliance I cannot live without.  It allows for so much variety in the kitchen and is such an easy way to sneak nutrients into food.  I use mine daily for making protein shakes, maca cacao milk, hummus, ice cream, the possibilities are literally endless.  I would recommend the E310 because it give you the option to gradually change the speed of the blend rather than just have an on/off switch.

I use this ice cream maker every weekend to make fresh ice cream with canned coconut milk, sweetener, and fruit!

Glass pie pans are my go-to for quickly roasting vegetables for a single serving.

Stainless steel cookie sheets are a safe alternative to standard aluminum cookie sheets which can omit harmful chemicals.

Cast Iron Skillet: A great non-toxic cooking option that also enriches your food with more of the essential iron mineral.

Glass jars are great for storing seeds, nuts, flours, and other ingredients in.  I like these because they're 16 oz and the lids are one piece which makes them easy to take on and off.  And who doesn't like a pretty jar with a gold lid for pantry organizing :)

Hamilton Beach Electric Water Heater

The Chemex coffee system makes a smooth cup of coffee and removes the bitterness from the bean.

Coffee Sock for Chemex: This is a reusable filter for the Chemex that you can rinse out and re-use!

Supplements

***Always consult your doctor or medical professional when supplementing. These are products recommendations based on what I have found to be helpful, not to be used as a medical recommendation.

Gaba is an amino acid naturally occurring in the brain. It plays a role in stress and anxiety reduction and sleep. Talk to your doctor if you think supplementing may benefit you.

Lion’s Mane is a mushroom that is helpful for repairing nerve damage, reducing anxiety, and supporting gut health. Talk to your doctor if you think supplementing with this may benefit you.

Omega-3 is important for the health of your heart, brain, and eyes and helps to reduce inflammation. Nested brand uses marine algae as the source of omega-3.

Klaire Labs L-Glutamine: L-Glutamine is an essential amino acid protein building block that I highly recommend to many of my clients.  It is especially helpful in treating leaky gut and ulcers, as it repairs and strengthens the intestinal tract.  It helps to promote better digestion as well as muscle growth, so it's important for athletes as well.  It also improves metabolism, detoxification, and mucus production for those suffering with IBS.  I prefer this brand as it gives you the recommended dose of 5 grams in one scoop and can be added to water or a smoothie without affecting the taste.

Hydration Multiplier: This is an electrolyte supplement great for those suffering with dehydration. It’s recommended by top hydration specialists and can also be found at Costco.

Lyte Show Hydration Supplement: This is a great electrolyte supplement if you’re looking for one without any sugar. It has quite a salty taste when put in water, so some prefer it mixed in juice or lemon water.

Probiotics: Probiotics are an important part of gut health, aiding everything from digestion to acidity levels to healthy skin.  Finding the right probiotic can be tricky depending on each individual body so talk with your doctor or a professional to decide what might be right for you.  A maintenance dose is typically around 10-20 billion.  Some probiotics are stable to purchase online, others should be purchased in stores for refrigeration, so contact the seller for recommendations if you aren't sure.  Renew Life and Culturelle are both trusted brands.

Most individuals, despite what diet they consume, are deficient in vitamin B-12. It is a critical part of nerve and cell function.  Deficiencies may make you feel tired and weak.

Vitamin D-3 supports the brain, bones, energy, and immune function.

Calcium Magnesium with Zinc

This is my favorite gentle fiber, including flax, oat, and acacia, to promote digestion and intestinal regularity.

Spirulina is a superfood known for its ability to detox the body from toxic heavy metals which we are exposed to daily and can wreck havoc on our health.  I recommend this brand, as it is critical to purchase from a trusted and pure source.

Grocery

1.jpg

Trader Joes Organic Pea Protein: For price and taste, this is one of my top picks for plant-based protein because it doesn’t have fillers or additives, just organic pea protein, making it very easy to digest and absorb. The vanilla flavor is sweetened with coconut sugar, and Trader Joe’s also carries an unsweetened version as well. And under $15, you can’t beat the price!

Terrasoul Pea Protein Powder: If you’re looking for a very basic organic pea protein that you can get online, I really like this one.

Orgain Organic Protein Powder: This is a great vegan protein if you’re wanting to avoid a “protein powder” taste.  It's smooth and creamy and packed with nutrients. It has a more complex ingredient list, so be sure to check the ingredients to see if it might work for you!

Coconut Butter is a paste made from ground coconut meat. It has a smooth texture and a sweet flavor, perfect for dipping fruit, spreading on baked goods as a frosting/butter, or blending into coffee.

Bob’s Red Mill 1 to 1 Baking Flour is my favorite gluten-free option for substituting white or wheat flour in recipes, and it tastes great!

Kicking Horse Decaf Coffee: Most decaffeinated coffees are processed with chemicals (some of which can be very harmful) to remove the caffeine, but this brand uses the Swiss water decaffeinating process, making it a great option. It's also fair-trade and has smooth and rich flavor.

Numi Chai Tea: I love this chai tea because it’s the perfect combination of spices and warm vanilla, and it’s decaffeinated, which is hard to find in a chai tea. I love adding a little organic soy creamer and honey for a creamy treat!

Nutritional yeast is a great source of B vitamins and can be added to savory dishes to add a nutty/cheesy flavor.  You can buy it here on Amazon, and can also find it for a great deal at Trader Joes!

Cacoa is the raw form or cocoa, and therefore contains extra nutrient benefits such as antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. You can order it here or find a good price at Trader Joes and Costco.  Use it to make Raw Cacao Maca Milk!

Mulberries are a delicious superfood known for their anti-cancer properties, liver support, and increasing immunity.  1 servings is almost an entire days worth of your vitamin C needs!

Almond Flour

Coconut Flour

Avocado oil is great for cooking because it has a smoke point of 520 degrees.  If oils get heated past their smoke point the fats turn to trans fats because they go rancid. (coconut oil smoke point is 350 degrees and olive oil smoke point is 320 degrees)

Coconut oil is great for baking under 350 degrees, adding to raw treats, or as a moisturizer.

Unsweetened coconut flakes are great for adding to baked goods or granolas, or eating raw with trail mix.

Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk. I purchase mine at Costco for a great price.

Almond Butter. I purchase mine at Costco for a great price.

Peanut Butter.  I purchase mine at Costco for a great price. Use it to make Salted Peanut Butter Chocolate Cereal Bars!

Gluten Free Quick Oats are great for making homemade granola, oatmeal, and baked goods.  Oats are naturally gluten free, however some are packaged in factories that have cross contamination with gluten.  So if you have Celiac disease, be sure to note that the brand you purchase is labeled "gluten free."

Raw honey is an important alternative to processed honey, because it maintains the most potent nutritional content.  You can order raw honey here online, or I suggest finding a raw and LOCAL version at your grocery store.  Use it to make Raw Cacao Maca Milk, Salted Peanut Butter Chocolate Cereal Bars, Raw Cookie Dough Balls, and your other favorite treats!

fruitspread.jpg

Fruit Spread.  When shopping for jams and jellies, look for one labeled "fruit spread" or "just fruit" and check the ingredients to be sure that it doesn't have added sugars (if you want a purer variety).  The fruit is sweet enough and you can find great varieties at many grocery stores.

ricecakes.jpg

Organic brown rice cakes are a great snack to top with nut butter or hummus.  I think some rice cakes taste like stirofome, but these from Lundberg are great!  You can find them at most grocery stores.

Coconut Sugar is a great alternative to cane sugar and can be found in most grocery stores.

Maple Syrup

Ceylon Cinnamon contains much higher nutritional value than "common cinnamon" and is used as a healing superfood.

Coconut has a lot of health benefits including being high in electrolytes.  Many of them contain added sugars, but the C2O brand is pure coconut water!
